Dear Multicultural Networking Group members,
Thank you to
all of those who confirmed availability and provided input for our March 26
call with NAMI’s new Executive Director, Mary Giliberti.
Below are the
four priority topics we will discuss based on the rankings you provided:
1. Overall strategic vision
to make NAMI more diverse and inclusive.
2. Cultural adaptation and
translation of education and support group programs.
3. NAMI's diversity and
inclusion priorities.
4. Need for additional
support for multicultural leaders and efforts at the local level.
While we had
planned to schedule brief comments from group representatives, survey results
showed that this was not the best use of your time.
Next
Steps:
·
Please
submit via email questions you may have related to each of these topic areas. Note
that we are looking for very concrete and specific questions related to
diversity and inclusion issues. The more specific we are the better answers we
can expect to receive.
·
We
will share your questions with Mary in advance so that she can plan how to
better address as many as possible during the call.
Agenda:
1. Introduction and housekeeping.
2. Mary’s opening remarks (overall plan
and vision).
