New NAMI Store Launch!

Below is an announcement from the National NAMIStore:

In our ongoing efforts to serve you better, we are happy to announce that beginning on February 3, 2014, we will be launching a new NAMIStore.  The new store is the result of customer feedback, a stronger partnership with our print vendor Master Print and months of careful planning.
Here is what you can expect from the new NAMIStore:

Faster shipping times—Master Print has a dedicated fulfillment team that will ship your order within 48 hours of the order placement.

Easier User Interface—The new NAMIStore will feature easy-to-view icons for every topic and program and an optimized search engine to help you more easily find the items you need.

E-check Payment Option—If you or your organization doesn’t have a credit card, you will be able to place your order using a check and have your order process more quickly.

More Shipping Option—Standard ground shipping will no longer be the only option for delivery of your packages; with the new NAMIStore, you will be able to select UPS 3-day, 2-day or next-day service.

Custom Print Products—The NAMIStore will offer several products for NAMI State Organization and NAMI Affiliate leaders to accommodate their stationery needs, including NAMI business cards and other stationery products that meet NAMI standards.

There is no scheduled downtime for the store transition. A few days before the February 3 launch, we'll be providing you with a new username and password so that you may immediately begin shopping. We will keep you apprised of any new developments or other information in the interim.
We look forward to providing you with this improved service. If you have any questions or comments, please let us know. Thank you for shopping at the NAMIStore.

I will post additional details as soon as I get them from National.

Important announcement from NAMI National - New NAMI Store/Updates/Reporting

As we edge closer to the end of 2013 I wanted to be sure to thank you for the amazing work you’ve done this year and let you know about some important things coming in 2014.

·        New store: The NAMI Store will have a new storefront through an outside vendor.  You will notice that the store looks different, but you don’t need to do anything differently to access it; you will automatically be taken there from the www.nami.org/store link.  The new storefront will contain program manuals as well as all program promotional material.
o   The new NAMI store will generally have a turnaround time of 24 hours and you will be able to track your shipped items.  Yes!  Be thrilled!  We are!
UPDATE: The new NAMI Store will not be available until sometime in February.
·        New manuals: We are delighted to say that all 2014 program manuals will be available in the new NAMI store using the same coupon codes.
o   All manuals are scheduled to be released Jan 2
o   Updates and edits have been made to incorporate DSM V changes to NAMI Family-to-Family, NAMI Peer-to-Peer, NAMI Basics and NAMI Parents and Teachers as Allies
§  Important changes have also been made to NAMI Family Support Group to increase clarity and ease of training
§  Due to the extensive changes that have been made to the NAMI Peer-to-Peer manuals this year, no replacement pages for the program are available; instead, new manuals can be purchased for  mentors, trainers and program participants in 2014.   To alleviate the cost burden of purchasing these new materials we suggest providing the 2014 manuals to mentors and trainers when you re-order.  You can use your 2013 manuals you’ve already purchased.
§  Summary of page changes will be available on the respective program’s intranet pages Jan 2
§  All other program manuals have updated operating policies as well as the addition of the Cultural Adaptation Policy and footers to indicate these are the 2014 versions (you do not need to order 2014 if you don’t need new manuals)
§  The updated policies will also be available on the NAMI Education Helpdesk
o   You can continue to use USA Print and Copy if you choose, but you will also have a second option for manuals
·        Re-orientation for NAMI Family-to-Family, NAMI Connection and Family Support Groups: NAMI will continue to make the re-orientation webinars and knowledge assessments available to teachers and state trainers in 2014, but it is up to the NAMI State Organizations to monitor this process. Once teachers and trainers have completed the webinar and assessment they can contact their NAMI Affiliate or NAMI State Organization to obtain the newest version of the manual.
o   If you have further questions, please contact the NAMI Education, Training & Peer Support Center at namieducation@nami.org.
·        DATA COLLECTION: (Emphasis mine) Please encourage your program leaders to submit data on all the classes, presentations and support groups they led this year. We will start compiling this as well as the State Training data on January 13. You may see the submitted data via the NAMI Data Access Site.
·        Re-launch of NAMI Education online newsletter:  We heard from many of you that you loved the Online Newsletter released earlier this year. Due to technical difficulties we had to take it down temporarily, but we are delighted to say that we will re-launch it early next year.  On this evergreen site you will find information about:
o   Training of Trainers
o   NAMI 360 Access
o   How to list your programs and classes on nami.org
o   Program updates and more!
Warm regards,
Colleen

Please note that on the webpage where you go to access reporting data there are tutorials on how to enter the data.  One very helpful one is the compatibility tutorial: http://screencast.com/t/dGt28nrj1VU

Please let me know if you need further assistance with any of these items mentioned above, and especially with reporting your classes and support group meetings.  This data is used by National and by NAMI California and are essential in the continuance of the programs.  Thanks very much!

Data Needed ASAP for Family Programs

Hello all!  Happy New Year.  Just a reminder about turning in all class data.  National is going to finish compiling their 2013 statistics so if your teachers haven’t reported their Basics and Family to Family Classes it would be much appreciated if they could please do so in the near future*.  Support group meeting data is also needed.  Please contact me if you have any problems with reporting.  I’ve attached the fact sheet you no doubt already have in your possession which references reporting procedures (see page 2).  I noticed Basics reporting was really low, so if you offer a Basics program please be aware of that.  Thank you very much!!

Reminder:  The upcoming trainings for the year are the Support Group/Basics training in Modesto February 7-9, the Spanish Family to Family March 14-16, and the Support Group/Basics in Encino April 11-13.

P.S.  *Please know that we do welcome data any time, it’s just that it will be more useful for us if it is received as soon as possible.  Thanks again!
